Edible Garden at Nakwa
The Edible Gardens project is one more way in which we work with communities, utilising what they have to hand to decrease hunger and poverty.
This project reinforces the householders knowledge on the links between what we eat and our well-being and the importance of diet for children, pregnant women and breast feeding mothers. We then train householders on various methods of growing vegetables organically with water preservation at the heart of the learning. Once the householders have grown vegetables, feel confident in their knowledge and have personally felt the benefits, they then train their neighbours.
