Sawe adds 2 more classrooms
At Sawe Primary School the two new classrooms were completed for the new academic year. This new block includes a Head Teacher's office and both classrooms have been furnished with desks and benches and painted with stunning murals for the incoming students. Guttering has been installed and connected to 4 x 5,000 litre water tanks to improve the school's water security.
The whole school is looking totally fantastic and the community is extremely proud of what the partnership has achieved.
With the school's expansion, David Lusako, the school's first Head Teacher has joined the teaching team. He and all the teachers fully understand the community's expectations, including achieving an exam pass rate of 100% at Standard 4 next year and with Standard 7 in 2024.
There are now 335 students at the school in seven classrooms, a ratio of 1 classroom to 48 students, meeting the community's target of no more than 50 children in a classroom. 100% of the students are being fed by the community every day.
We are now busy planning, with the school development committee, for the next stage of the school's development exploring income generation, electricity connections and the building of another classroom block.
